Origins of the history of skiing in Klínovec go back to the beginning of the 20th century. Skiing in Klínovec begins to improve between the World Wars. There were couple of SKOKANSKY MUSTEK, vpich were used by athletes from both Aires of boundary. There were held a lot of international competition. Today you can see the highest natural MUSTEK at that time in the northwest of Klínovec called Fuchsloch. Also with nrun, take-off jumping table and place of incidence.

Later they begin with downhill skiing. Todays downhill courses called U zabitého and Damska originated by spreading of original forest path and roads. The first ski competition ran also here. The name U zabiteho (At killed) has the origin in the bad luck event, when one of the competitors died on this downhill course. Whole area of Klinovec was not open for public after the second world war. The border patrol stayed in the mountain hotel on the top of Klinovec. That was the reason why the SKOKANSKY MUSTEK was not open again and the ski sport not improve so quick.
This forbidding of entry was vitiated in 1960. The first movable ski tow (cca 400 m) in U zabityho was built in this decade. Another ski tow was built for new originated ski club, was open for public and another competition were held. 1968 built first heavy double ski tow at downhill course Damska up to the top 1970 changed movable ski tow at U zabityho to heavy tow up to the top 1976 built ski tow number 4 in the area under the hotel Lesni zamecek 1978 built double ski tow and the bridge over the road at Premostena, built the downhill course Parezovka 1982 built the ski tow number 5 and lighting under the hotel Lesni zamecek 1984 bought the first machine for landscaping of downhill
The owner of the ski area was OPS Chomutov in 1991, later called Veros Chomutov. Some of the equipments in Klinovec were innovated. Skiing improved during 70th and 80th years. A few succesfull competitors grew up here on the republic and international level. The highest success reached M.Schimmer, multiple master and representative of CSSR and regurarly participant of WM. Today best competitors from Klinovec are Petra Elsterova, snowboardest, multiple master of CR, and Martin Pisa and Bara Strakova, downhill skiing. The EPK, spol. s r.o. bought Klinovec area in 1991. Today is this company called Skiareal Klinovec, s r.o.During these years the area was modernize, the downhill courses were spread, the whole area was equipped with electronic apron system.
1998 first productionof technical snow on 30% of downhill courses 2001 technical snow on 100% downhill courses 1997 – 2002 bought 3 machines for landscaping of downhill courses in the highest duality, all machines are regurarly modernize
A lot of hotels, pensions, restaurants were also modernized dutiny these years, ski schools, rental of ski equipment and restaurants were built newly. The whole level of area increased in last years, untill 2002 it is evaluated among the 5 best centres in Czech Republic. A lot of comepetition in alpine skiing and snowboarding take place here, also on international level. Also ski clubs are here. Skicentre Klínovec held the World champion in junior snowboarding in 2004 here. That was the reason for building of snowpark with U-ramp on the highest level.
We plan to change todays skitows for seat skitows, lengthen the downhill course called Parezovka and build 4 seat ski tow. Anothers plan to the future are building of new donwhill courses and skitows to the tlen Loucna and Denmark boundary and finally to interconnect our centre with area Oberwiesental and Jáchymov and make it into one international ski centre.
